Phoenix came to us after being rescued by RSPCA Inspectors from a home where none of the cats were neutered, so cats were breeding uncontrollably.

As is very common in situations like this, the cats were unsocialised with humans and consequently very scared. Phoenix was obviously quite traumatised, and wasn't coping in the cattery as he was even starting to lash out at staff. Consequently, the decision was made to place him in a foster home, and although he has been a slow-burner, he is now doing really well, showing his playful, kittenish side and following one of the resident cats around everywhere.

With this in mind, we know that Phoenix would benefit from another cat in his new home. He will also need people who won't crowd him or try to touch him, as he is still very wary of contact and will run away if he feels cornered.

Our fosterer is doing wonderful work with him, encouraging him to engage in play-which is the way to his heart, it seems-so Phoenix needs someone who will continue in the same way to gain his trust.
