Fostering

We at the RSPCA Surrey Woking & District Branch are looking for animal loving people who are caring and passionate about these wonderful animals. We are looking for new foster homes to add to our small team of amazing foster families. All the animals that arrive into our care are placed with our foster families to be assessed ready to be matched with their new forever homes. Could you be that person/ family that could help an animal find their forever home, if so please complete the form found by clicking the link below and send it to megan.long@rspca-woking.org.uk / 07553284028. We are desperately seeking pet free foster homes but please do still apply if you have a resident pet.

Gift Aid

Dear Customers,

The RSPCA Surrey Woking and District Branch is a separately registered Charity from the main Society.  The board of Trustees for the branch are locally elected volunteers, responsible for running the branch within our local area.

As a small local charity, we are responsible for our own fundraising to cover costs for animal welfare provisions we offer within our area and rely heavily on volunteers to operate, including the staffing of our shops. We do not run an animal centre or use private boarding establishments to place animals before rehoming, but instead we rely on a network of volunteer fosterers.  We feel this is better animal welfare and this also helps to keep our overhead costs down.  Our branch run shops are our biggest source of income in order to fund the work we carry out.

We appreciate that customers believe we should operate Gift Aid.  This is something we have explored in the past.  However, as we are a relatively small branch with minimal staff, we had to consider the administration associated with the scheme; volunteer training required; the cost to upgrade the tills; and the personnel and space required to sort and label the donations on site.  It was decided at the time that we did not have the capacity to be able to introduce this in all three of our charity shops.

We appreciate all your donations and gift aid maybe something we explore again in the future. In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding this please email ruth.lamb@rspca-woking.org.uk

Thank you for understanding
