RSPCA Suffolk Central branch are thrilled to be ‘taking over’ the Cornhill in Ipswich on Thursday 21 August 2025, 10am-4pm with our ‘All About Animals’ event!
We’ve got great family-friendly things to do, including:
- Fun games to educate about dog behaviour, enrichment and the best snacks to feed your dog!
- Talks from an Animal Centre Assistant on how to care for your pets
- Meet an RSPCA Welfare Officer and find out more about their role, the equipment they use and their day to day life helping animals
- Kids activities including colouring-in and painting your own garden sign
- A reading tent run by Suffolk Community Libraries with animal stories and books about pet care
- Fantastic pet products to buy
- A gallery of animals needing new homes
We’ll also have a donation station on site for you to drop off any unwanted products for our charity shops or pet products for the animals in our care!
There will also be lots of information about the services we offer across Suffolk, and our team will be on hand to chat about what volunteering for us is like and details of our upcoming events programme!
NB: There will be no animals at this event!
Help us celebrate and support our continuing work helping animals in need in the Suffolk area at our
Open Day and Fun Dog Show at the Martlesham Animal Centre, Mill Lane, Martlesham, IP12 4PD,
on Sunday 7 September, 11:30am – 3:30pm.
As always, our friendly fun dog show is the centrepiece of the event, and we will be having an RSPCA
tombola and raffle, a prize draw, refreshments, pizza van, and bric-a-brac stalls. Craft stalls include
animal themed novelties, soaps, hand-made fudge, chutneys and jams. Animals Asia will be there, as
well as a stall supporting hedgehog rescue.
We’ll have stalls where you can find out more about the Branch’s fundraising and education work,
how to volunteer with us and ways to support us such as donating to our shops or getting involved in
other fundraising events like the Ipswich Half Marathon.
Parking at Community Centre. Disabled parking only at Animal Centre
Entrance fee £1 for adults & 50p for children under 12
(No unaccompanied children under 14)
Dog Show registration from 12 noon. Judging from 1pm.
1pm: Crossbreed with Character
1:15pm: Happiest Hound
1:30pm: Young at Heart (dogs 8 years +)
1:45pm: Second Chance (any rescue dog)
2pm: Fabulous Female
2:15pm: Marvellous Male
2:30pm: Kids & K9s
(young handlers up to 16 years old)
2:45pm: Dog of the Day
All times are approximate and subject to change
₤2.50 per class or 3 classes for ₤6 (per dog)
Maximum 3 classes per dog.
All proceeds will go to the RSPCA Suffolk Central Branch to help animals in need in the local area.
Welcome quizzers! We’ve booked the date for our next Branch quiz – Saturday 18th October 2025 - at St Michaels Church Centre, Martlesham Heath.
We’ll be welcoming teams of up to 6 people with some testing questions and a hot supper of jacket potato with a selection of fillings.
Doors will open at 7 pm for a 7.30 pm start.
Hot and soft drinks will be available, and you are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks; including alcohol.
There will be a raffle and prizes for the winning and losing teams. If you can donate a raffle prize, it would be much appreciated.
All proceeds from this event will support our work in protecting animals in need across Suffolk.
Tickets will be on sale nearer the time, but for now, get the date in your diary!
Our annual Christmas Fair will be held at Holbrook Village Hall on Saturday 8th November 2025, 10am – 2pm.
Further details on timings, stallholders and activities will be posted nearer the time.
Please join us for festive fun and the opportunity to buy some unique Christmas gifts, take part in a hamper draw, and we’ll have stalls with items from our RSPCA shops, bric-a-brac, jams, and chutneys. Find out more about our Safe Haven sponsorship scheme – ideal as an unexpected Christmas present. Have a go (or two) at the tombola and raffle and enjoy delicious hot and cold refreshments. Ample parking.
