We’re thrilled to be a charity partner for the Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon for the third year running!
We are offering FREE limited charity spaces if you’d like to run on behalf of RSPCA Suffolk Central – all we ask in return is that commit to fundraise at least £150 on our behalf ahead of the event (that could be much easier than running a half marathon!).
And that’s not all, if you raise over £50 we’ll supply a free running vest!
We will be releasing applications for our charity spaces shortly, but if you are interested in running this event in our team, please register your interest online here.

The fantastic route starts at Portman Road stadium, takes you through Holywells Park before turning down to the Ipswich Waterfront, then following the River Orwell before heading back along the Wherstead Road, and Grafton Way before reaching the big finish at the stadium!

Join us for a fabulously Fun Dog Show at the Earl Stonham Village Hall on Sunday 4 October, 11:30am – 3:30pm. Free entry and plenty of free parking!
As always, our friendly fun dog show is the centrepiece of the event, but there will be lots of stalls and activities to keep you entertained. We will be having an RSPCA tombola and raffle, refreshments, craft stalls, pet products and accessories for sale.
Dog Show registration from 12 noon.
Judging from 1pm.
Each prize winner (first, second and highly commended in each class) will receive a prize bag with in-store vouchers from our kind sponsors, Gladwells Pet & Country stores. You can find out more about Gladwells and the locations of their stores across Suffolk here. The Dog of the Day will also receive a trophy to take home courtesy of P&R Locksmiths.
Dog show classes with approx. timings are:
1pm: Crossbreed with Character
1:15pm: Happiest Hound
1:30pm: Young at Heart (dogs 8 years +)
1:45pm: Second Chance (any rescue dog)
2pm: Fabulous Female
2:15pm: Marvellous Male
2:30pm: Lovely Mover (Strutters, prancers, wheelies and bouncers all welcome!)

All times are approximate and subject to change
₤3.00 per class or 3 classes for ₤8 (per dog)
– Maximum 3 classes per dog.
– No puppies under 6 months old accepted in any class.
– To comply with the Animal Welfare Act, dogs with docked tails or cropped ears cannot be shown.
– No unaccompanied children under 14.
All proceeds will go to the RSPCA Suffolk Central Branch to help animals in need across Suffolk.

Please note:
Our dog shows are meant to be a fun day out for you and your pooch. However, this should never come at a risk to your pet. As the British weather can get very hot so we will be monitoring the temperatures and, unless we feel we can operate in a safe comfortable environment for your dogs, we may cancel this event at short notice. We urge you to read our guidance on taking dogs out in hot weather, which can be found here.

Whole Hog course: 30 obstacles, 5 mile run
Boss Hog course: 40 obstacles, 7 mile run
The Whole Hog events are for teams and individuals over 16, and include running (or walking) around a course made up of a variety of challenging obstacles.
They are hard work but a lot of fun, and usually last around 1 ½ to 3 hours (3 hours if you walk!).
The Obstacles
You can expect to be crawling (under cargo nets), climbing (up steep banks and walls), wading through rivers (never swimming), tunnels, slides, jumps, swings and monkey bars… Expect to be tired, expect to be wet and muddy and expect to go the Whole Hog!

Your ticket price includes entry into the quiz, crisps on the table and a hot supper of jacket potato with a selection of fillings.
Venue: St Michaels Church Centre, Martlesham Heath, IP5 3P
Doors will open at 7 pm for a 7.30 pm start.
Hot and soft drinks will be available, and you are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks; including alcohol.
There will be a raffle and prizes for the winning and losing teams.
If you can donate a raffle prize on the night, it would be much appreciated.

We are hosting a very special sporty quiz night at Ipswich Town Football Club on Thursday 29th October and we’ll be welcoming teams of up to 6 people with some testing questions and a great night out.
The quiz is loosely sport-themed, but don’t worry, you don’t have to be a sport expert to have a great night out as there will be plenty of animal questions snuck in too! Ipswich Town Football Club will also be writing a round of questions all about their club, so if you think you are the biggest ITFC fan, you can prove it!
Your ticket price includes entry into the quiz and a cheeseboard platter for your table.

Doors will open at 6.30 pm for a 7 pm start.
There will be a licensed bar open on the night to buy your drinks.

Stowmarket Fun Dog Show
