New RSPCA Finchley Branch Clinic Assistance Scheme
From Thursday 3rd January 2019 the RSPCA Clinic service will now operate from within Two by Two Veterinary Centre, 178-180 Long Lane, Finchley, London N3 2RA. We appreciate that this may be a difficult and upsetting decision for some of our clients, many of whom have been using the East Finchley Small Animal Clinic for many years.
We are hoping this new scheme will allow for more practical working hours, local access to more services and we will have more control over who will be eligible to access this scheme as the necessary 24 hour cover will be included in the agreement. Legally, should you wish to use this service, you will become a client of Two by Two veterinary centre with the RSPCA Finchley Branch subsidising a contribution towards certain treatment costs. Please contact us for further assistance on other charitable schemes in the area.
Any existing clients will automatically be eligible for inclusion in the new scheme, prices for treatments previously covered by the clinic will continue to be subsidised and clients may be eligible for further assistance on a case by case basis . A further benefit is Two by Two also have onsite facilities that we previously did not have at the clinic, costs for individual procedures can be discussed on a case by case basis.
Please continue to book appointments on our appointment line number 07928 628771. Appointment times will be Tuesday 10.30am - 12.00pm and Thursday 4.30pm-6.00pm. When you register with two by two vets, you will receive information about their 24hr cover. If you are a current client, until you have re-registered with two by two, please continue to call the RSPCA Harmsworth Animal Hospital on 0300 123 0712 for any emergencies.
We will only see clients and their animals if their owners live in eligible postcode areas and are in receipt of one of the following benefits:
Income Support (IS) soon to be replaced by UC (Universal Credit)
Job Seekers Allowance (JSA)
Employment Support Allowance (ESA)
Pension Credit (NOT state pension)
OR equivalent Universal Credit (UC)
Proof of these benefits must be shown at every visit to the clinic together with proof of address (a utility bill) and photo ID.
Unfortunately if you do not meet our eligibility criteria then we will not be able to see your pet. You will need to register with another vet or check for other charitable schemes in the area.
Most Charities have rules about eligibility, clients they are able to accept and what areas of London they cover, so please check with them directly before going to another charity.
We are always working hard to extend our opening hours and services. However, as we are self-funded this depends on your support. Any donation, no matter how small, would greatly help us to reach that goal: you can read about different ways to contribute on our Support us page.
