Barnsley & District Branch

Our Branch

The RSPCA Barnsley & District Branch has been around since September 1963. Our mission is by all lawful means to prevent cruelty, promote kindness to and alleviate suffering of all animals. We help to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome cats and dogs in need. Our Branch also does alot of work in the community by running low cost neutering and chipping campaigns.

The Trustees are a small group of volunteers who have overall responsibility for the Branch and they each have their own allocated roles within the Branch. They meet on a regular basis to keep up to date with the happenings within the Branch.

Our Branch currently has 2 employees. The trustees are responsible for the day to day running of the Branch and our two Shop Managers,  alongside teams of hard working volunteers look after our Charity Shops in the Town Centre and Wombwell.

We have an amazing group of volunteers fosterers who care for cats brought to us by inspectors, before they are rehomed- and our colleagues at Chesterfield care for the dogs brought to us, financed by Barnsley Branch. For more information see the 'how you can help' section.
