About Our Branch
We are a self-funding branch of the RSPCA responsible for raising money locally to support our animal welfare work.
The branch is run by a committee of locally elected volunteers who are responsible for the management and administration of the branch's affairs. We always welcome new volunteers so please get in touch if you want to help. We are currently in need of new Trustees. For infrmation please visit
We normally support our local RSPCA inspectors and take animals most in need. However from the 10 April, 2025 We are no longer able to rehabilitate and rehome animals through fosterers and a private boarding establishment. We are currenty looking at ways to redress the situation and other ways of support.
Our area
We cover Stoke on Trent, Newcastle under Lyme and Staffordshire Moorlands.
Sadly from 10 April 2025 we are no longer able to offer a rehoming facility and instead we are offering welfare for all animals, both domestic and wildlife.
* The Branch provides education, information and advice, benefiting the public by promoting compassionate human sentiments towards animals.
* We provide subsidised veterinary treatment for animals which are sick or injured and belong to local people on low incomes. We do this through a voucher scheme or working with associated Charities. This work benefits those on means tested benefits by giving them financial help to obtain care for companion animals in need of veterinary treatment.
* The Branch offers subsidised neutering and micro-chipping of companion animals for owners on low incomes. This helps to control dog and cat populations and promotes responsible pet ownership. Animals in the care of the Branch receive veterinary treatment, vaccination, neutering, and micro-chipping and are assessed for rehoming.
* Free animal care advice is offered to pet owners, and talks are given by invitation to local school children about caring for pets. These activities benefit the public through the promotion of responsible pet ownership.
From August of this year the Branch became a CIO (Charity No 1210239) and our old Charity number 225670 is no longer operating but that number may still appear on some web pages,
The Branch is run through a committee of volunteer Trustees and we are always looking for new volunteers with professional experience in various fields that would contribute to our work and the development of our Branch.
We are committed to promoting good, responsible pet ownership throughout the Branch area, which covers the whole of North Staffordshire, including Stoke on Trent and the Staffordshire Moorlands. We give talks to interested organisations spreading the word of good animal welfare and hope shortly to expand our programme and other forms of help.
With your help can we effect real change…
