Hello everyone you may remember me, Tommy, RSPCA ‘s Shropshire Branch cat. I suffer from Cerebral Palsy, but I don’t let that stop me at all.

Life here at the cattery has been pretty hectic over the last few months. We have had dozens of cats in for a variety of reasons, all needing new homes. Fortunately the wonderful people of Shropshire and surrounding counties have come to their rescue. Since January 2014, 78 cats/kittens have now been successfully adopted and another 8 are reserved to go. Our new Facebook page is also helping us to spread the word about the work we do.

I have a very important job to do. I go up to new inmates to speak to them and find out all about them. My carer says I am such a friendly boy with no aggression ( whatever that is !) in me at all.

Recently I have been helping Caramel a tortie girl with a broken pelvis. She was in a road traffic accident. She has been encouraged by me to get up and walk a few steps. She has been on cage rest for 6 weeks now and has told me that she wants to come out and walk around with me. My carer says she can come out for 5 minutes walking next week. We have to walk about in a carpeted pen though so Caramel’s legs don’t slip. I like the carpet I can dig my claws into it.

I have been enjoying the beautiful weather, playing in the garden and trying to catch flower petals, I’m not very good at it as my eyesight is a little wonky, just like my legs. However I am good at chasing round after my carer’s little dog who loves to wash me
