Tim has worked in major accountancy practices and roles since he qualified in 1970. He began working in the transport industry for a company as a financial accountant before working his way up to general manager and then director/chief executive.
In his role he was responsible for more than 140 employees and central to negotiations with the Transport and General Workers' Union before he moved on to other roles in the financial world – including a 10-year spell as director of a company with £20m turnover.
For more than 30 years, Tim has been a trustee of RSPCA Huddersfield and District Branch where he volunteered his time as treasurer and then chairman. Tim was instrumental in setting up a dog neutering scheme with the local authority to try to address the community’s problem with unwanted and abandoned puppies and 25 years on this scheme is still going strong.
Currently a trustee of the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield and District Branch following a merger in 2010 other milestones of Tim’s trusteeship have seen the opening of the branch shop and the introduction of a cat fostering scheme, placing thousands of cats and kittens into loving foster families while they were waiting for their forever home.
