Paul spent 32 years as a police officer, rising through the ranks to Inspector. He had stints in traffic, CID, drugs and community policing. As inspector, he led policing in Chester City 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with responsibility for 40 staff.
For 14 years, as a police licensing officer, Paul was responsible for providing expert advice to the senior command team. Paul also acted as an advocate at countless court hearings and appeals, as well as providing expert advice to Queen’s Counsel representing the police at a House of Lords appeal.
Paul’s work with the RSPCA began 20 years ago when he became treasurer for Warrington branch where he was responsible for the major redevelopment of the site. Paul joined the national RSPCA council in 2008 and has provided support and guidance to a number of local branches in the North West.
Now retired from the police, Paul is studying for an Economics degree at the Open University – he just needs time to finish it!
