Having initially studied music and taught privately, Elizabeth went on to create two successful businesses in the retail food sector and hospitality industry. Elizabeth also founded a not for profit organisation that operated a Community Association providing facilities and organisation for various youth, training and leisure pursuit groups in her local area.
Elizabeth has significant experience helping charity shops and centres develop locally. As well as developing the national Society’s network of shops, she has also managed the rebuilding project of an RSPCA branch animal centre, new cattery and develop the supporting shops.
Before joining the RSPCA Council in 2017, Elizabeth became a trustee with the Halifax, Huddersfield & District branch, where she has held the post of Chairperson and line manager for the last 4 years.
She and her family currently share their homes with a number of rescue animals - two dogs, five cats and five ferrets. Elizabeth and her foster-turned-adopted German Shepherd cross dog have been inseparable for 16 years and they can often be seen out and about raising vital funds for the RSPCA!
