We're launching a single for Christmas!
We’ve thrown our hat into the ring for the Christmas number one, as up and coming singer Lucy Ellie covers the Simply Red hit song 'Stars' in aid of our work.
The acoustic song is the soundtrack to our Kindness at Christmas video, that highlights the work of our inspectors, care staff, vets and volunteers.
The tear-jerking tale tells the story of Woody the Christmas toy pup, who is thrown out with the rubbish, before we rescue and take care of him.
The single will be available on most major online music retailers, including Apple iTunes, Google Music Store, and Amazon MP3. You can listen to it now on Spotify.
Proceeds from the single are being donated to help with our work in rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming thousands of animals. We’re expecting to take in around 19,000 animals this winter.
Combining two loves
Lucy Ellie Cooper, who also works for us, said:
“This was a lovely opportunity for me to combine my two loves - animals and music.
Outside of my job at the RSPCA I am a country music singer and songwriter. When the chance came up to record such a fantastic and well-known song for the charity’s Christmas video, I jumped at it.
I really hope people will take Woody’s story into their hearts and support the RSPCA this winter.”
We’re appealing for kindness this Christmas
We’re braced for 2,000 calls a day this festive season about abused, neglected and sick animals. Which is why we’re appealing for kindness this Christmas.
Help care for a rescued animal by buying their meals over the three main days of the holidays. Your kindness can make such a difference.
