Call for tougher sentancing - take action!
In 2017, after years of campaigning, with help from our amazing supporters, the UK and Welsh Governments announced they would introduce longer prison sentences for animal abusers.
At the time the announcement to increase the maximum prison sentence from six months to five years sent a strong message that animal cruelty will not be tolerated. These measures however have still not been introduced.
Meanwhile in early June 2019 a law was passed giving service animals like police dogs greater protection, with sentences for animal cruelty that are currently higher than those for a much loved pet or any other owned animal.
We need you to email your MP now, urging them to ask the Animal Welfare Minister David Rutley MP to introduce tougher sentences for animal cruelty, so that all offences against animals are properly punished.
