Parker: Age approx. 15yrs + old

Parker came into foster care after we were told of him living outside after his owners sold their house and left him behind. The new home owners had been feeding him since they moved in over 12 months earlier, but unfortunately couldn't have him inside the house. With Parker getting older and the weather getting colder, they asked for help.

Parker was so grateful of a comfy warm bed and straight away picked out his favourite bed by the radiator in his foster home.

Unfortunately, blood tests and extensive urine tests show that Parker is in renal failure. He has been diagnosed as Stage 2, so can be managed at the moment with a special prescription food, but will need medication in the future.

Parker is also deaf and is a bit stiff on his back legs. We think this is down to a little bit of arthritis and he is now on supplements to help with this. Despite all this, he is a really gentle and friendly cat who absolutely loves fusses and company. When he isn't purring and headbutting, he is happy snoozing in his bed.

What we want more than ever for Parker is somewhere he can be safe and happy for whatever time he has left.

We need to rehome Parker within the branch area and ideally in a home with someone who has experience in cats with renal problems, but this isn't essential. We will always be on hand to offer advice and support as much as possible. We will also support any ongoing costs in relation to his CKD as long as his new owners are able to attend our local vets.

Due to his deafness, Parker does tend to 'shout' quite a lot and new owners need to be prepared for the fact that he does often do it in the early hours - so if you are a light sleeper and have work the next day he's definitely not the cat for you unless you can thrive on lack of sleep lol! He can also miss the litter tray on occasion so again you need to not be phased by this

We do appreciate he's going to need a special person to give him the home he needs but is he a wonderful boy aside from his little issues and would make a great companion cat.

So if you are retired, live in a detached house, are hard of hearing and have experience of cats with Kidney disease lol you really are perfect for him!

Given his age, health and because he is deaf, Parker will not be able to free roam and therefore will need either a small catio where he can still have some fresh air or a snooze in the sunshine, or perhaps a supervised potter about in a safe and secure garden in the summer months.

Parker is such a lovely old gent, please get in touch if you can give him the home he has been waiting for.

  • I may be able to live with another cat
  • I'll probably spend more time inside
  • I'd prefer an adult only household
  • I'm a Golden oldie
  • I may be able to live with a friendly dog
