A cat which was abandoned outside a vets is still waiting for a home after 200 days in the RSPCA’s care.

Three-year-old Pearl is the longest-stay cat at the charity’s Stapeley Grange Cattery, in Nantwich, Cheshire. Since she arrived in early February, she has seen 92 other cats be adopted from the centre - but as yet no one has offered her a home.

ee Stewart, manager of the London Road cattery, said: “It is really difficult to say why she is still with us as she is a lovely cat who has already been through so much.

“She has been with us the longest out of all our cats and we are desperate to find her a home.

“She was found abandoned outside a nearby vets with her friend Topaz and their three kittens - all who have gone on to find new homes. Pearl has clearly been affected by what happened to her but she has grown so much in confidence since February.

“When she first came in to us she wouldn’t go near anyone at all. She was semi-feral and terrified of people, but slowly she has started to learn to trust.

“Pearl may never be that cat that constantly wants attention but she will still be able to give a lot of love to someone. We think she will be best suited with an experienced cat-owner who has a lot of patience. She’s so playful and quirky with the team and it is such a shame that she is not settled into a new home yet.”
