Hardy........our sweetheart

Hardy is a very special boy who came into care with us after being treated in the most appalling way.  Locked in a shed and starved this beautiful cat understandably has trust issues and we at the RSPCA are committed to helping him start to learn to trust again and reduce his anxiety so he can find a home where he feels safe and loved.

Hardy greets everyone with a hiss, but no claws or teeth ever.  He is just warning you to not hurt him as unfortunately he has only ever known neglect and suffering.

Our volunteers are working with Hardy to slowly re-socialise him and we find talking to him and spending time with him he has started to show small improvements, he has even let a couple of volunteers touch and stroke him and feed him Dreamies.

Hardy is still a work in progress but this gorgeous boy is so desperate for love and affection we truly believe that he will overcome his fears.

We will keep you updated once Hardy is in a position to be rehomed…..

My personality

  • I'd prefer to be the only cat in a home
  • I'll probably spend more time inside
  • I'd prefer an adult only household
  • I'm a shy guy; I'll need time to settle
  • I would prefer not to live with a dog
