About Me

Breed: Domestic Shorthair crossbreed
Colour: Black & White
Age: 3 Years (approx)
Ref: CW2019054

Teddy was found as a stray living outside and sheltering in an old rabbit hutch in someone's garden, therefore we do not know any history other than he has had to fend for himself.

On arrival to the cattery Teddy was very scared and was hiding and hissing at the staff. But... after several weeks of short reward based visits (giving him food when staff went to see him) he started to look forward to people arriving as it meant treats and he LOVED food!! Over the weeks he would start sitting out on his cattery shelf and looking out into the cattery instead of hiding!

Currenty Teddy cannot be picked up and handled if he can move away from you. He will panic, sometimes hiss (if he doesn’t know you) and run away. He has not displayed any aggression, just wanting to get away. Teddy will initially need to be a hands off cat. We are looking for a rural/semi-rural home where we hope Teddy will have enough stimulation to fulfil his needs.

Nervous cats can often take many weeks, sometimes months to adjust to a new life with new surroundings and new people. We can’t emphasise enough the importance of patience and letting Teddy settle in his own time.
With time, patience and commitment we feel Teddy will one day become a friendly and loving cat, he just needs to build up a trust and bond with a loving and understanding owner.

If you feel you can give Teddy the chance of new and happy life and are prepared for the challenge of his rehabilition of his trust in people then please call us, he is a true rescue that deserves a second chance.
