EDDIE

Eddie came into our care as a stray with mild Cat ‘Flu symptoms. Cat ‘Flu is unfortunately a very common illness in poorly-bred and often multi-cat household kittens. It is caused by usually one of two viruses, and symptoms can vary from mild (e.g. snuffles and the odd sneeze) to full-blown ‘snotty’ discharge from eyes and nose, with coughing, sneezing and a sore throat (much similar to our own ‘flu).
Eddie has been treated a course of ‘Ronoxan’ antibiotics, been fully examined by our Vet, and challenged with vaccination and neutering prior to him being declared as sufficiently recovered to move to a new home.
Fluey cats/kittens are very likely to be flu carriers. Some will periodically shed the virus throughout their lives. Some will continuously shed virus for a period of time after they have recovered from flu. This will increase under times of stress (such as operations, moving house, a new child or pet).
Therefore any other cat in the household would be at risk of catching flu, however we are not looking to home Eddie with other cats so this would not be an issue.

Eddie is a very friendly and attention seeking cat! He loves to follow you about and rub around your legs to get your attention. He is however very fed up at being in a cattery and really wants to get out and explore the outside world. He has given us the odd nip to get our attention because he just wants to be out all the time!
We are looking ideally for a rural/semi-rural home where Eddie can go out to hunt, explore and play.

My personality

  • I'd prefer to be the only cat in a home
  • I need to be able to go outside and explore
  • I'd prefer an adult only household
  • I love company and would like you to be around a good part of the day
  • I would prefer not to live with a dog
