We rely on fosterers to provide temporary homes for the animals in our care and are always keen to hear from people who can provide a safe and calm foster home for animals. This includes rabbits, small furries, and cats, including temperamental or nervous cats who may benefit from time in a home environment away from the cattery.

What do I need to do as a Fosterer?

• Care for all the animal’s needs – feeding, grooming, cleaning, socialising and handling.
• Be happy to play a part in the rehoming process by providing photos, videos and regular updates via email.
• Ideally be able to take your foster animal to our preferred vet to attend routine appointments, and collect food and supplies from our Eastcote shop.

What are the requirements to become a Fosterer?

• Provide a suitable space inside the home for the pet to live.  We can provide the equipment required for outdoor pets, you just need a safe garden.
• Compassion, empathy and the appreciation that every animal is an individual.
• Living within or on the edge of our Branch area, so we can reach you easily to drop off animals, or in case of an emergency.

What does a Fosterer get?

• Regular contact with our Animal welfare team.
• Veterinary and behavioural support.
• Most importantly, you will know you are helping some of our most vulnerable animals until they are ready for a new home.

All food, equipment, veterinary care and support is provided when you begin foster and throughout the foster period.
