Letter from Chair of Sussex North Branch

Consultation on Merger of the Sussex North Branch (charity number 276355) and Sussex Brighton and East Grinstead Branches

Following, detailed discussions and assessments with Sussex Brighton & East Grinstead over the past year, the trustees of the Sussex North Branch have decided to proceed with the merger and have now entered the due diligence phase as set out in the National Society’s guidance for Mergers

The trustee board are confident that a merger could result combining synergies from both branches that will result in a positive move for the development and improvement of animal welfare in both regions. The enlarged, merged branch will have benefits including:

¿ a greatly increased combined membership from which to draw potential trustees and other volunteers

¿ benefit from economies of scale in the supply and delivery of animal welfare services

¿ provide an enhanced animal welfare service for local RSPCA inspectors and members of the public

The merger will result in a name change for the merged branches, currently proposed as Sussex North and Brighton Branch.

Should you have any specific comments/questions on the Sussex North Branch /merger process, we would, of course, be happy to answer these. Please send these by return of les@rspca-sussexnorth.org.uk I / one of the Trustees shall respond in due course.

Yours sincerely,

Les Anderson
