Pat Trussell, Hon Branch Secretary, who sadly passed away in September 2014, was been postumously honoured with the RSPCA Queen Victoria Bronze Medal in recognition of her exceptional work for animal welfare and service to the RSPCA.

The Special Awards Committee of the RSPCA  recognised the exceptional work that Pat did helping many animals in need whilst volunteering for over 40 years.

The Medal was accepted on behalf of Pat by Paula Wilson, Trustee and Homing Co-Ordinator for the Branch and was presented by Chief Veterinary Officer, James Yeates.

We are all sure that Pat would be very proud to be congratulated on winning this award and we are truly sorry that she was not able to accept this herself.

Pat's husband, John (pictured below) was also in attendance with Vicky Burrell (our Branch Administrator). 

RSPCA Honours 2015

In 2013 the RSPCA rescued 245,590 animals thanks to the hard work, courage and compassion of our inspectors and other frontline staff. Their dedicated work is supported by an incredible number of people; including a huge network of staff and volunteers working at our local branches, animal centres, wildlife centres and animal hospitals. As well as independent scientists and all of our dedicated supporters.

The RSPCA Honours are an opportunity to recognise and honour all these people and organisations that help to make the lives of animals better; through kindness, courage, determination and innovation. Awards are given for bravery, outstanding service and to recognise exceptional contributions to animal welfare.
