There are many ways in which you can support Abbey Street Animal Rehomg Centre to help improve the lives of animals in your local area. Our animals come from many different backgrounds, from many different homes, but all have one thing in common - they need to find a new home and family to love them. You can help us to achieve that in the following ways:

Safe Haven

We offer a scheme via which you can sponsor a cat pod or a dog kennel. Regular giving such as Safe Haven is essential to allow us to help needy animals in Derby & the surrounding areas. If you would like further information on Safe Haven please come into the Centre or contact:

Other ways of donating

If you would like to make a one-off donation, we can accept cash and cards at our charity shops and cash, cards and cheques at our Rehoming Centre. You can also donate to our JustGiving site. If you are a UK tax-payer, by gift-aiding your donation we will receive an extra 25p per £1 with no extra cost to yourselves.

Donations of animal products

We really appreciate donations of animal products such as treats, food, bedding and toys - and so do our animals! If you would like to make any donations such as these, please pop them into the Centre any day except Wednesdays, between 10am and 4pm. If you are unsure as to whether we need anything specific just give the Centre a call beforehand.

We also have a Wish List on Amazon. You can use this to buy treats, toys and food for our animals!

Donations of shop stock

Our charity shops are always grateful of stock donations and all the money raised in our charity shops comes back to the Centre to help our animals. If you have a large item(s) and are struggling to deliver please give the Centre a call on 01332 344620 to organise a collection. Items can be dropped at any of our charity shops or at our Rehoming Centre. Details of our shops can be found here.

Adopting an animal

A great way to support us is by adopting an animal from us! Rescuing an animal is a very rewarding thing to do and we have all kinds of pets available - dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and a variety of small furries. To see the animals available for adoption please click here. 

Fundraising Events

We happily encourage members of the public to organise their own fundraising events to raise money for us. This could be anything from a car boot sale to a cake sale to a sponsored sky dive!
