Handsome Sam has found himself in our kennels at the amazing age of 17 years! After settling in with us at the centre and stealing the hearts of all the team here, he is now ready to find his 'furever' sofa in a loving and comfortable home.
Despite his remarkable age Sam enjoys his walks and remains very intelligent and quite the gent! Sam has lost the sight in one of his eyes so you do need to be aware of this and approach him on his sighted side so as not to make him jump - he does cope well though and only ever looks at you in surprise and astonishment!
As a respected OAP (older age pet) Sam would prefer a quieter home without children and just really wants someone to share his strolls with and a few home comforts. He is still very much a determined Collie though so we are sure he will have a few tricks up his sleeves to keep his new people on their toes!

Sam is not at the centre but waiting patiently in a foster home so please do get in touch on 0300 123 0745 to make an appointment with us at the centre if you have room in your heart and home for a truly wonderful older chap in his retirement.

My personality

  • I know how to sit (and lots of other commands too!)
  • I'd prefer an adult only household
  • I can be left alone for short periods
  • I'd prefer to be the only dog in a home
  • I'd prefer not to live with a cat
  • I'm young at heart
  • I love food and treats
