Picasso came into our care as her owner could no longer look after her.
Picasso has been well cared for and is quite friendly even though she has not been at the centre for very long, so everything is very new to her. She will eat fruit and vegetables out of your hand once she feels secure with you.
We are asking for her to be rehomed to an aviary with other Rosellas so that she has a natural life in captivity, rather than a cage.
Picasso is an Eastern Rosella and this species is native to Australia and is found in Tasmania. Rosellas can live up to 25 years and require enrichment such as parrot toys and nesting boxes, as their natural habitat is living inside groves and holes in trees.
Rosellas need to have lots of fruit in their diet along with a good parrot mix feed.
