Pretty Pooch Pepsi is our fun little live wire looking for her new home. She came into us via our Inspectors and was terribly underweight and had been kept in poor conditions. It has taken us several weeks to get her in the condition she is now. She was so excited to see friendly faces that she could barely contain herself during her assessment period. She would jump up and mouth at your arms and hands in a desperate bid to make contact with you. We found we needed to use distraction techniques such as a toy to play with on the walk or walking with other dogs as she is great in their company. Although she still mouths at times there has already been an improvement and that will only increase in the home where she will have far more attention naturally and more training. At first she didn't seem to know how to play but now she thoroughly enjoys Tug-O-War and has learnt how much fun a game of fetch can be. Once off lead in our paddock she likes to mooch around sniffing all of the scents and she quickly understood that to get the attention she so desperately craves she had to sit and be patient to be rewarded with fuss. She lived with a dog in her previous home and we believe could do so again providing a couple of good interactions take place here at the centre first. She will need an owner at home for the majority of the day and someone experienced with implementing reward based training to help her grow into the well rounded adult she can be. Pepsi will be a challenge at first but she is so affectionate and loving once calm that we believe you will be rewarded for all your efforts with a trusted friend for life. She is still food obsessed as to be expected, she even cheekily takes sweeties out of your pocket when you're not looking! We are hoping that as her weight continues to gain this will subside, she just needs to understand that times have changed and meal times are regular as clockwork these days. Poor Pepsi has been so let down in the past, she thoroughly deserves a second chance. We are currently looking for an adult only, experienced home.
