Meet Chan (back) & Chumley (front), these boys came into us from one of our inspectors, the owner had too many cats and was not able to meet their basic welfare needs. When they both arrived they were very scared and would spend the whole day hiding away, but we knew when we went home they were coming out and eating their dinner and having a wonder around. Day by day we were seeing improvements in their confidence, but we made a huge breakthrough with each of them when we put them in together. When they arrived as there were so many cats we obviously didn't know their social circles in the home, Chumley was in with a little girl who we thought was his sister as they were the same age and Chan was housed alone. When these two shy boys were left alone we thought we'd try them together, and we saw an immediate difference in them both, they were like long lost friends greeting each other after not seeing each other for years. They were nuzzling, headbumping and grooming each other, Chumley was bumping Chan so hard he nearly knocked him off the shelf! After this amazing reunion it was clear that we had to rehome them together. Chan loves his fuss and will accept all the love you are willing to give him, purring away, headbumping you. Chumley has come on leaps and bounds since being put with Chan and he is a much happier lad. Both boys love their food so is a really good way of bonding with them. We still feel they will be best suited to a quieter home and will need time to adjust to their new surroundings but once completely settled these boys will make loving companions. They could live with children of a late primary school age who understand they will need time and space to settle in.
