Fosterer for Dogs and Puppies

Bath Cats & Dogs Home is looking for committed people who can
offer short term care to needy dogs and puppies in their own homes. Pets might be recuperating from operations, too young to rehome or stressed dogs who cannot cope with kennel life.

Key activities

Providing all the care they need – feeding, exercising, cleaning, socialising, giving medication and grooming.

Times & preferred duration of commitment

Volunteers are expected to be at home with the fostered dog or puppy for most of the day, only leaving them for a maximum of three hours. They should be able to foster for a minimum of eight weeks at a time.

Experience / skills / knowledge / personal qualities required

Experience of handling and caring for dogs.
Volunteers should live within 45 mins of the Home and have use of suitable transport.
A garden is beneficial
Preferably no other pets
To be willing to follow our guidance and procedures on training and handling

Training Provided:
You will have support from our behavioural team at all times.
