RSPCA In Memory Funds: your questions answered

If you have questions about an In Memory Fund, you may find the answer here. Or, please do get in touch using the contact details at the bottom of the page.

How do I get started?

It's easy to create your own RSPCA In Memory Fund page through our JustGiving page.

First you'll need to choose your fundraising page web address using a memorable password or use the one provided. Next, simply follow the on-screen instructions to add photos, memories and donations - and share your page with family and friends.

How do I tell my friends and family about my fund?

If you want to share your page, you can do so through Facebook, Twitter and email – look out for the ‘share’ buttons on your fund page.

Can I keep my page private?

Yes, only you have access to the contents of the page – including any photos or memories – unless you choose to share it with others.

Do I need to set a target?

It’s entirely up to you. Setting a fundraising target is optional but can help encourage people to contribute to your page in the future – perhaps by completing challenges or sponsored events such as walks or runs.

Can people give anonymously?

Yes. When someone makes a donation to your fund there is an option to leave their name. If this box is left blank, the gift will be anonymous. They can also hide the amount of their donation by ticking a box.

Can I gift aid my donation?

Claiming gift aid on donations allows us to make your gifts work even harder for vulnerable animals. Whether your donations are eligible for gift aid depends on what kind of donation it is and if you pay enough tax. Donations from a collection (for example in lieu of flowers at a funeral) or on behalf of someone else are not eligible for gift aid. Find out more information about gift aid.

How do I pay in donations or sponsorship money?

We’re incredibly grateful for all donations we receive, as they make a big difference to the animals we protect.

The best and easiest way is to pay in donations online. Just remember not to select the gift aid box if the money has come from a collection or sponsored event, as unfortunately they’re not eligible.

You can also pay in donations raised elsewhere by sending a cheque made payable to the RSPCA (please don’t send cash in the post) along with your details and the name of the fund to:

Wilberforce Way
RH13 9RS

If someone wants to do an event for my fund, can they create their own sponsorship page?

Anyone can raise money for the fund by creating a team page , which allows users to collect donations separately, but still have them contribute to the main fund.

Is there someone I can talk to directly?
