End wild animals in circuses
We don't believe any animal should be subjected to the conditions of circus life. These animals often experience:
- Regular transport
- cramped and bare temporary housing
- forced training and performance
- loud noises and crowds
Unfortunately, animals continue to be used in circuses, including wild animals such as camels and zebras. The damage to their welfare is likely to be significant, and scientific research has shown that circus life can have a harmful effect on the welfare of many species.
Wales announces ban on wild animals in circuses
19 countries (12 in Europe) have put bans or restrictions on the use of wild animals in circuses, including Scotland and the Republic of Ireland who have introduced bans. Wales have also recently announced plans to introduce their own ban.
England is falling behind, despite the promises of successive governments to deliver a ban.
Take action for wild animals in circuses before the Second Reading on 26 October
Since the wild animals in circuses Bill was introduced in 2012, it's failed to pass the Second Reading four times. Make sure it finally succeeds and email your MP today.
We're also asking those of you who use Twitter, to Tweet your MP using the action that follows after you have emailed.
