Wonderful Winston is a big softie! His big brown eyes are filled with sadness though that he has ended up in such a sorry state. He was brought to us by an Inspector, due to welfare concerns. He was very lean and with sores all over his body. He was very smelly and was very, very frightened. It took a couple of days for him to build up the courage to approach the staff to make friends.

Now he has made a few friends here at the centre he knows that life is not quite so scary, although little things like leaves blowing, unfamiliar noises/ textures are quite a big thing for him to deal with, this is likely due to a lack of socialisation in his past.

Winston is having to start from scratch and it is likely to be a long road for him , so he is looking for an owner who can help him feel at ease and introduce him to the world at a pace he is comfortable with.  He just wants to be loved and needs someone who can show him how amazing the world can be! Any one hoping to give him a home may have to visit the centre on many occasions to build up that trust and for the centre to offer support it would be ideal for the person to be in travelling distance to the centre.

Winston seems to quite like other calm patient dogs and so he may be suitable to live with another dog in a new home but due to his background he worries about sharing resources. It will be important that an owner bears that in mind so that the dogs can be the best of friends with nothing to squabble over.

This sweet boy is looking for an experienced, quiet, adult only home with people who can offer him a stable routine and all the love he needs to heal. Despite all that he has been through he still can give his whole heart to those who invest a little time and energy into him.  He is already a different dog to the one who came to us, but he is hoping for a more permanent arrangement and a family to give him the love, care and stability he needs.

Can you offer our wonderful Winston a home he truly deserves where he can put his past behind him and can look forward to a bright and happy future?
