Willow is a 12 year old black cat. She is friendly and loves nothing better than a fuss. She does not like other cats or dogs.

Why I'm special

My name is Willow and I am 12 years old. I have been asked to say a few words about my recent ‘adventures’ in the hope that a kind person will fall for me and offer me a forever home where I can settle. I had lived in one home most of my life until earlier this year when sadly my owner died of old age. I wasn’t feeling too good by this stage because my owner had been poorly, I had a bad case of fleas and very sore skin and to cap it all a dog had been moved into the house!

I was given to some nice people at the RSPCA and although I was living in a cattery pen, it was peaceful, the people were friendly and gave me lots of attention and meals were regular and plentiful. My skin got better and although I had some major surgery to remove some lumps, I behaved well, rested and took my medicine and all was well. In fact I like to think I am quite spritely and am told I am fit and well with all my vaccinations up to date. After all 12 is the new 10, I’d say.

In due course another family came along to take me to their home to live and although it seemed ok, I wasn’t too sure and on day 2 thought I’d take a look outside. They conveniently left a window open (I’ll bet they thought a senior lady like me wouldn’t have the energy to escape) and I headed off into the neighbourhood. Unfortunately I lost my way and couldn’t get back and spent the next 6 weeks wandering around looking for my next meal and hiding in the undergrowth. Not a good idea at any age!

Thankfully, people are kind and helpful and after some serious detective work I was picked up by a lady from the RSPCA and I am very comfy in her house, thank you very much! What I and the RSPCA would really like, is to find me a loving and forever home within the next couple of weeks and then I don’t need to go back to the cattery. Nice as it was there (and I know everyone wants to see me), I could do with settling my paws on a comfy, warm chair in a house once and for all, and to know I have somebody and somewhere to call just my own.

Would you be able to help?   =^_^= Willow

My personality

  • I'd prefer to be the only cat in a home
  • I need to be able to go outside and explore
  • I could live with children of secondary school age
  • I love company and would like you to be around a good part of the day
  • I would prefer not to live with a dog
