Arrived 27th October Private boarding kennels Macclesfield

Update 27th Nov: We know Thor and Ellis were ill treated. We are looking for a true dog rescuer for Thor, after all not all rescue dogs are perfect which is often what people want in their new dog, we have to expect some consequences of previous ill treatment. Thor is not happy in kennels, away from the stress and noise he's much more relaxed and at peace, he needs to be adopted as soon as possible. Thor is the most affectionate and demure dog and he really does warrant some interest at least so we can talk about him. We would even offer the cost of a behaviourist so you have our full support. But we feel in the right home he will continue to strive and not regress. He has so much love to give and if a true rescue dog like Thor doesn't deserve to find his soul mate and be happy again then what's the point? We know his rescuer is out there somewhere!

Thor…is a gentleman of  dog, he is very soft, gentle and sweet; very loving indeed. He is also extremely handsome so he ticks all the boxes!  He needs to be walked on a harness as otherwise he’s pretty strong and will pull, he walks lovely on a harness. Thor and Ellis (adopted) were living in squalid conditions, faeces covering the house and garden, mainly kept in the house and not exercised; unfortunately, as a consequence of this and the fact they were both entire they had a fight just before being signed over. For this reason they had to sadly be separated.  Thor has met several dogs when out and has been fine while in our care-we wonder if he has Collie in him as he will lay flat on the ground and shuffle forward when he sees dogs-if you didn’t know you’d wonder what he’s about to do but he just susses things out and greets nicely. However, he was adopted and came back after 2 months as he wasn't unpredictable with some dogs, he was very wary of men he didn't know coming into the home-more information will be given but he clearly has had negative associations with men, he's fine with men out on walks and in the kennels but in his safety haven of a house he is distrusting. For this reason he needs an experienced rescue dog owner who can accept and manage this-it's quite common and sadly normal behaviour that we see all too often but now we know this we can find the right owner this time round. He is a classic case of an ill treated dog needing time and acceptance. He’s way too interested in chasing cats and chickens at the kennels so a small animal free home would be good! An active home would be right up Thor's street...as even though he's never learnt how to play with toys he loves the outdoors. He has been neutered, micro chipped and vaccinated.
