SPARROW

Sparrow – 9 yr old black male. He has seen life (note the wonky ear!) and knows what he likes. He enjoys a comfy bed, someone to say hello to and rub around their legs and space to roam and explore. He doesn’t like cats or dogs and would not be suitable to go with children. He is a big strong, healthy cat and doesn’t really want picking up or a lap, nevertheless he would like a nice home of his own where he can relax and not be on the move all the time. Please give him a chance, you will be rewarded when you see him settle.

Why I'm special

I wish I knew what to do – I never seem to get it right.

At first I was living very happily at home and my family took in some other pets who I didn’t like much, so I had to get away. I didn’t go far, but the neighbours down the road weren’t happy about me sitting on their doorstep or in their garden, because they didn’t want a cat. So I moved on again, but the same thing kept happening. My first owners were so worried about me they asked the RSPCA to take me in and rehome me.

At first I was very cross to have my freedom of choice of garden taken away, but the new people were all very nice and once I relaxed I found things were quite comfortable in the cattery. Food available regularly, a comfy bed and someone to chat with, and after a while I even remembered to play and enjoy some toys and games again.

These friendly people promised me faithfully that I would find a new forever home and be able to go outdoors again soon, but I am beginning to think they are like all the rest. So many of my cat neighbours have been chosen and they come and go whilst I seem to be stuck. I am missing all of the summer and I do so love the sun. I know I am approaching middle years and have a wonky ear, but I thought that was characterful? I am fit and healthy and really only want someone to share their home and garden, and perhaps love me just a little too.  Are you the one who can help me?

My personality

  • I'd prefer to be the only cat in a home
  • I need to be able to go outside and explore
  • I'd prefer an adult only household
  • I'm independent; I like to do my own thing!
  • I would prefer not to live with a dog
