Updated photos of our special girl Sofia. We are looking for a really understanding home for this cat. Unfortunately, before she came to us after being abandoned by her previous owners, she'd had some really rough handling by adults and been messed around with by children. This has unfortunately made her a little bit untrusting and she gets easily scared if she sees hands coming towards her. Her foster carer has worked really hard with her to gain her trust and she will accep...t being handled and stroked (on her terms) now.
We are looking for an understanding home for her in a quiet household with no children and preferably no other animals. If you think that you could offer that to this girl who is desperately in need of a break and a good life then please get in touch and we'll put you in touch with her foster carer.
Sofia is a three year old female cat who is the mother of George. Both cats have come to us because their owner has moved without them.
Unfortunately for Sofia she has been left outside to fend for herself for extended periods and being a white cat has suffered bad sunburn to her white ears. She has seen a vet who has advised that she always has sun block put on during sunny weather, something which is very important for all animals with white ears and noses as they are extremely at risk from the sun. At the minute she's having cooling gel put on them to take away the pain. I'm sure most people will know how painful sunburn is, so you will understand the discomfort this poor cat has been left in. She'd just had her cream put on when these photos were taken and as her ears are still very sore, this is why she doesn't look very impressed!
Sofia has been used to living with another cat and with children. She's been vet checked, spayed, treated for fleas and worms and will be microchipped and vaccinated. Her adoption donation is £30. If you are interested in giving her a home and taking care of her so that she doesn't get sunburnt again, please get in touch.

Why I'm special

Sofia really needs to find an undertanding home who will love her on her terms and teach her to trust again.

  • I need to be able to go outside and explore
  • I'd prefer an adult only household
  • I'm a shy guy; I'll need time to settle
  • I may be able to live with a friendly dog

Help feed animals in our care

Dog eating out of a dog bowl © RSPCA

It costs on average £8.52 to feed a single animal in our care for just one week!

We rehome thousands of animals every year. Whilst some are lucky enough to find a new home in just a few weeks, many more stay with us for months until we're able to find them their perfect family.

Will you help us cover the costs of feeding dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and more with a donation today?

*The funds collected will be used wherever the need is greatest.
