RILEY

Handsome lurcher Riley has come to us as his owner was not meeting his welfare needs. He is a young boy, only around a year old, but already knows lots of basic commands and walks quite nicely on his lead. He can be a little excitable at times, so would benefit from ongoing training with his new owner, to help build a bond and to teach him some further commands. Riley can get a little over excited around some dogs, but generally seems to get on well with many dogs at kennels, and we feel he may be able to live with another dog with a calm temperament, following a successful introduction here at the kennels. Riley would probably be best suited to an adult only home, and would not be suited to living with a cat or other small animals. We are not sure if he has been used to being left alone, so would benefit from an owner around most of the time, at least until he settles. Riley has a wonderful nature and loves a cuddle and fuss, and always greets staff and volunteers with a wonderful wagging tail! If you feel you could give Riley the home he deserves, please contact our Rehoming Coordinator Louise: rspca.newcastleadoptions@gmail.com or call 07973 952575.

Help feed animals in our care

Dog eating out of a dog bowl © RSPCA

It costs on average £8.52 to feed a single animal in our care for just one week!

We rehome thousands of animals every year. Whilst some are lucky enough to find a new home in just a few weeks, many more stay with us for months until we're able to find them their perfect family.

Will you help us cover the costs of feeding dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and more with a donation today?

*The funds collected will be used wherever the need is greatest.
