PERRI

Perri – approx. 18 mth old female. Mostly black with a small flash of white. We are looking for a very special person who is not daunted by a long term project.  Perri came from a multi cat household where she was born, lived indoors and had not been handled as a kitten. She gave birth herself in her early days with us and was so traumatised by her new situation it has taken a long time for us to get near her. With a good slow and steady routine and the unwavering patience of our fosterer and cat cuddlers, Perri has finally made a breakthrough and allowed herself to be stroked and will sometimes play just a little. She is clean, eats well and likes dark spaces where she can feel safe.

Sadly because she has never been outdoors we can’t really home her as we would a feral, to a farm or stables. We are looking for a kind and patient, experienced cat person who will give her as long as she needs to find her way to settling and who has no expectations of immediate results. She just needs a safe, quiet place to live and someone who understands. She could possibly live with an older, undemanding cat. Our cattery is not the right place for Perri now, she should have the opportunity of new experiences whilst in the security of a proper home.

We are aware this is a big ask but from experience we know there are some wonderful animal lovers out there who understand the time and commitment we have given and the need of every animal to be given a chance of a happy future.

Why I'm special

I’m not sure what I want because I have so little experience of life, but I can’t just sit in this little box for the rest of my days, getting up to explore at night and eating when no one is looking. I did live in a flat but it was too busy and there were too many of my relatives so I kept myself to myself. It might be nice to try a home again if it were quieter and I could be left alone to get the lie of the land. I see other cats in the cattery striding up and down, cuddling people and playing with toys. It looks terrifying but also perhaps could be quite good fun if I were only brave enough. Do you have any ideas?

My personality

  • I may be able to live with another cat
  • I'll probably spend more time inside
  • I'd prefer an adult only household
  • I'm a shy guy; I'll need time to settle
  • I would prefer not to live with a dog
