Mia – 10 yr old tortie female.  You can see from the photos how relaxed and happy Mia can be in her own space and in the comfort of a home. She is sweet natured, affectionate and inquisitive.

However Mia is now very unhappy in the cattery, does not like having cat neighbours so close to her and has put several interested human visitors off by taking a swipe at them! It is a shame to see her agitated and we are keen to find her a good home asap. If you would like a cat companion who will rule the roost, but will greet you with plenty of affection and attention (and if you think you can see beyond the current bad behaviour!), please do get in touch. Mia should live in an adult only home and be the only pet. Ideally she should have some safe outside space to make her own as well.

Why I'm special

It’s been a bit tough, not to mention confusing these past few months. My much loved owner went into care, which meant I had to as well. I hope she’s more relaxed about it than I am!

To begin with I went to a nice flat where my fosterers gave me everything I needed and took me to the vet etc. That wasn’t so bad and as I got to know them things were quite nice and comfortable. Only problem being I wasn’t allowed outside.

Later I had to move to a cattery where I was also comfortable with good food and nice people. The main problem here is there are lots of other cats looking at me all the time, some of which have even found new homes before me, which makes it doubly irritating. There have also been lots of kittens poking their noses and paws into my pen. They don’t seem to know their place and that they should respect their elders.

I crave the peace and quiet of my own home and someone to be friends with again, as it doesn’t feel good to be on edge all the time. I’m sure you understand and if you know anyone who can help, please call and let me move on to what I hope will be my forever home.

My personality

  • I'd prefer to be the only cat in a home
  • I need to be able to go outside and explore
  • I could live with children of secondary school age
  • I love a cat nap
  • I would prefer not to live with a dog
