Handsome Hugo is a medium sized Staffie, who came to us when his owner was no longer able to meet his welfare needs. Once he gets to know you, Hugo has a lovely nature, and enjoys spending time with people and getting cuddles. He has been taught commands like sit and paw, but he would need an adopter who was happy to continue his training and help him to learn to walk nicely on his lead. He may be able to live with another dog, as he has lived with a dog before, but a new adopter would need to spend time getting to know Hugo, and bring their dog to meet him several times to help them bond. He can be vocal around other dogs here at the kennels, and doesn't always get on well with some of the bigger dogs, but we feel this could be worked on, he does seem to prefer human company to spending time with dogs! We feel Hugo would be best suited to an adult home, with an experienced dog owner, to help him settle. Hugo needs a loving home with an adopter who can help build his confidence and trust, and we think he will make a wonderful companion with the right person. If this could be you, please contact our Rehoming Coordinator Louise on 07973 952575 or email

Help feed animals in our care

Dog eating out of a dog bowl © RSPCA

It costs on average £8.52 to feed a single animal in our care for just one week!

We rehome thousands of animals every year. Whilst some are lucky enough to find a new home in just a few weeks, many more stay with us for months until we're able to find them their perfect family.

Will you help us cover the costs of feeding dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and more with a donation today?

*The funds collected will be used wherever the need is greatest.
