Here is our special boy Douglas He was found on an allotment, back in February, injured with an abcess on his face, and he was very scared and unloved.

Several months later, after lots of treatment and care just look at him now! He can be a lovely gentle boy and he is constantly told by staff and volunteers how handsome he is.

He is a special boy and his journey so far at the centre is wonderful to see. When he first got here he was petrified, which made him hiss, growl and hide away from human contactl. He would just bury his head into his bed so that he could hide away. He was terrified for weeks, but thanks to the help of humans and pilchards on a spoon - he very slowly grew to trust and now loves nothing more than some cuddle time with the volunteers/staff he has grown to love.

He can still be wary of people he does not know, but all he needs is time to get to know you. With the friends he has got to know here at BBF he can be a total fusspot, loving nothing more than a big cuddle, head bonks, strokes and being brushed. Have we mentioned that he adore treats?

His new guardians will need to have patience with him, and give me the time, love and space he needs, as going to a new enviroment will probably be a bit frightening. He may want to hide and hiss again just for a little while whilst he builds his confidence. Day by day he confidence is improving and we really hope you can see what a lovely boy he has become and what a lovely companion to the right humans he could be!
