Curious Clyde is looking for a fun and loving adopter. Clyde has plenty of quirks and needs an adopter that matches his personality! He is fun, outgoing and loving but due to his past he needs a special kind of home. First off he will need a soft bed to snuggle up on, plenty of toys and someone around who will give him all the TLC he needs. But most importantly he needs someone who is very sensible and prepared to help him settle into home life. He may be small but he is full of life so will not suit elderly people. Although Clyde craves and elicits social contact he will need an adult only environment, however we will not rule out older teenagers. Clyde will need to be the only pet in the home. Whilst being with us Clyde has received lots of training and has come on leaps and bounds but still has a way to go, something his new family will need to continue with in the home. We have found him to be clicker savvy and work well for food rewards, verbal praise and a game of tuggy. As he does require further training around other dogs, he must be muzzled in public. However, please do not be put off by this as he is so worth it! All of the staff have just fallen in love with his character and need for attention. Clyde travels well and even knows how to "twirl" - he hopes this will impress people. We know that with a little guidance and the right family he is going to make a wonderful companion. He just needs someone that is prepared to take him on, quirks `n` all. We would love to hear from people who are interested so we can tell you even more about this lovely chap.

Why I'm special

Well let's tell you all about this special little dog, called Clyde. Clyde came to South Godstone Animal Centre back in May 2015 after he was found living in make-shift kennels along with several other dogs. Clyde's quality of life prior to coming to us was poor, never really getting to experience the joys life has to offer. Due to how he was being kept his owners were prosecuted in the hope he could be signed over into our care for us to find him a new home.. boy did that take a long time! Two years later and we finally received the news that we was allowed to find him a loving family that will show him all of the good things in life. Upon hearing the good news we had to quickly prepare Clyde for re-homing. Clyde received a new haircut from a groomer and was given a brand new collar and harness so that he could look his best for potential adopters. Clyde even made an appearance on the Dog Rescuers in the hope to find him that special someone. Sadly, our attempts to make him stand out from the crowd have failed. Clyde is still waiting for a home. However, to help lift his spirits of not yet being chosen, a member of staff devotes her days off to give him some rest bite away from kennels since he has been with us for so long. Clyde gets taken on long walks offsite where we hope he might just meet someone who wants to take him home along the way! Clyde has even had sleep overs and showed how much of a cuddle bug he is! But why hasn't he been chosen yet? Clyde is cute, little and goofy.. not to forget affectionate! We think it's because people are put off that he has to wear a muzzle out in public as he needs further socialisation around other dogs. However, we see this as just a small flaw among a long list of great qualities. So let us ask you, that if your lifestyle sounds suitable, then you give this little boy a chance. We will be there to help guide you along the way. Clyde will make a fantastic pet with someone with the perseverance to help him adjust to home life and we all cannot wait for the day we see him living the life he deserves. You'd have a friend for life in Clyde.
