Big Bertie came into the shelter as his owner could no longer care for him.  He is about 1-2 years old, we have now neutered, vaccinated and microchipped him.  Big Bertie is a Californian rabbit, they are big rabbits he is 4.70kg.

Due to Big Bertie’s size he will need a shed/wendy house type set up to live in as hutches are too small for him.  He will need a large run attached to the shed and use of a secure garden to run around in.  He is looking for a female rabbit for company.  He could live inside he is very clean and even goes out of his cat flap to use the trays in his run area.

Big Bertie is very friendly and likes to see what the staff are up too all the time.  He can be picked up but due to his size it is not recommended all the time only for health checks

Help feed animals in our care

Dog eating out of a dog bowl © RSPCA

It costs on average £8.52 to feed a single animal in our care for just one week!

We rehome thousands of animals every year. Whilst some are lucky enough to find a new home in just a few weeks, many more stay with us for months until we're able to find them their perfect family.

Will you help us cover the costs of feeding dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and more with a donation today?

*The funds collected will be used wherever the need is greatest.
