BELLA

Remove from my favourites

Bella is a good-natured, friendly dog, but she needs help learning how to cope in a home environment.  Bella gets excited/aroused very easily and doesn't know how to manage herself. This almost constant state of arousal means her concentration can be poor and she struggles with anything that requires calm, still behaviour.

Bella is strong on a lead, but can walk nicely for short periods.  She needs calm, structured training to help her to cope with her environment and relax.

We think Bella is also touch-sensitive; she suffers from separation anxiety and seems to like to be close to someone, but avoids physical contact, especially when she's excited/agitated.

Bella desperately needs to get out of kennels and to live with someone who is dog-experienced, home most of the time and who can offer Bella consistency and patience so that she can build up her confidence and learn how to behave appropriately.

We are looking for a permanent or foster home for Bella.

Please email dogrehoming@rspca-crewenantwich.org.uk if you think you could help Bella.

Why I'm special

Appeal for a foster home for Bella

Bella desperately needs to get out of kennels and to live with fosterers who can offer her consistency and patience so that she can build up her confidence and learn how to behave appropriately. In kennels, we can't give Bella the continuous attention that she needs. Bella has been professionally assessed and her fosterer will be given full advice and a training plan.

We are looking for the following kind of foster environment for Bella:

  • Fosterers who are dog-experienced and based mostly at home, with plenty of time to spend with Bella during her settling in period. Bella should not to be left alone for the first 2-4 weeks while any separation issues are addressed.
  • Patient, calm, steady guardians who will work with Bella using reward-based training methods.
  • Preferably adult only home (older teenagers may be ok if they are very sensible and can be trusted to follow rules about interaction and handling).
  • No other pets.
  • Good-sized garden so that appropriate play and exercise can be managed in a safe environment.

While she is in foster care, we will cover all of Bella's living expenses.

Please email dogrehoming@rspca-crewenantwich.org.uk if you think you could help Bella.
