Are you looking to work on the frontline of an organisation that ends cruelty, promotes kindness to and alleviates the suffering of animals?

We're recruiting a Vet Surgeon to join us at our Ashley Heath Animal Centre in Ringwood on a permanent, part-time basis to share responsibility with our existing in-house Vet Surgeon.

As part of the larger Animal Centre team, this role allows you to have a unique relationship with the animals on-site, from intake, rehabilitation through to rehoming, enabling a full case continuity. This role also provides access to the wider RSPCA veterinary team, allowing the potential for further opportunities and visits to other facilities.

Here at Ashley Heath RSPCA most of the animals have been rescued from neglect and bad treatment by their previous owners. They may arrive terrified and it's up to us to try and work out why and bring them round to trusting people again. We do this on a daily basis with a dedicated team that we're extremely proud of. The work can be tough, both physically and emotionally but very rewarding.

We look after and re-home cats, dogs, rabbits and other small domestic animals - at any one time we could be caring for over 180 animals. It's inspiring to think how much more of a difference we can make. If you'd like to be a part of one of the UK's best known and respected animal welfare organisations, this is your opportunity.

What you'll be doing

Demonstrating competence across veterinary disciplines, including:

  • Soft tissue surgery

  • Previous clinical experience
  • Charity sector experience (desirable)
  • A professional approach to veterinary care and clinic practice
  • Excellent time management skills
