How rescue dog Rolo is making people smile
Rolo is a rescue dog turned therapy dog who has a special place in many people's hearts.
Puppy farm to therapy dog
After we rescued Rolo from a puppy farm, he was rehomed with Claire Dean, who had some very big plans for him! Today, Rolo is a much-loved therapy pet, spending his days spreading joy to patients of all ages in his local hospital.
Once a week Rolo and Claire visit Southend hospital where everyone loves seeing the very special pup! He loves the attention too - which is particularly heartwarming when you consider he had such a difficult start in life.
How Rolo is making a difference
Alan, a patient in the Stroke ward who previously hadn't had much movement in his arms, was able to stroke Rolo freely when he turned up to the ward! The reaction Rolo gets is absolutely amazing.
Owner Claire explains:
I've always loved dogs and I just know the joy that they bring to people, I thought; if I can share him it will help people - because I know from myself, that's what he does.
