How our team is responding to coronavirus
Animals are the centre of our world, which means that the incredible people who rescue and care for them are, too. That includes our staff, volunteers, and people like you! At this worrying time, we want to keep you updated with how we are currently dealing with coronavirus (Covid-19).
Our animal rescuers continue to work hard
At present, our frontline staff are still working their hardest to help animals in need, but are obviously taking precautions as per Government guidelines, and self-isolating where necessary. As time goes on, we may see a reduction in our services as staff need to self-isolate, and we appreciate your patience with our national cruelty line, inspectorate, branches, centres, and hospitals. We're prioritising animals in greatest need, which sadly means we may not be able to provide as much support as we normally would.
Our animal centres are shut
In order to keep our staff safe and well, our centres are now closed to the public. If you would like to donate food or bedding to your local animals, please leave it outside the centre doors. For all other enquiries, please get in touch with your local team via phone or email.
Sadly, we're cancelling our fundraising events for now
For all our amazing #TeamAnimal challenge participants, many of our events have unfortunately been cancelled or postponed. If this applies to you, our Fundraising Events team will be in touch if they haven't already. We are currently looking at how people can do virtual fundraising challenges for us, and we'll keep you updated about how you can get involved!
We're committed to providing pet owners and animal lovers with our most up-to-date advice
We are updating our website as often as necessary with vital information about how to protect your pets at this time. You can read our blog for tips on keeping yourself and your human and furry family safe. We are also developing some fun blogs and videos all about how to stay entertained if you're working from home. Make sure you're following us on social and turn on post notifications so you're first to see them. Make sure to share them to help your friends, too!
We're asking for help
We're expecting to see a decline in our fundraising whilst challenge events, street collections and other fundraising initiatives are being cancelled. Animals are also likely to remain in our care for longer as people are unable to rehome them due to self-isolation. For some people, this may be a worrying time financially, and if you're facing concerns about job security, our thoughts are with you. If you're fortunate to be working from home and are saving costs in commuting, takeaway coffee and lunches, we'd love it if you could consider making a donation to animals in need.
Finally, thank you so much for your passion and commitment to animal welfare. We're committed to rescuing animals in their hour of need, but we wouldn't be able to do any of this without you!
