On your marks, get set, bake! 4 ways to hold a social-distanced Bake-Off
The season for baking is here and this autumn we're asking you to take on a virtual baking themed fundraiser to raise vital funds for us.
While fundraising may be a little different this year, there are plenty of ways for you to get involved with a virtual baking fundraiser. You can still hold a 'Great British Bake Off' sweepstake, organise your own baking competition or hold a virtual 'Bake Off' night.
Get started now by requesting a digital fundraising pack full of downloadable resources to get you started.
Whatever fundraising activity you decide to do, please don't forget to stay up to date with the latest Government advice and stay safe.
Run your own 'Great British Bake off' sweepstake
A sweepstake is a great way to enjoy watching 'Bake Off' together, while apart. Simply ask all participants for a donation to pull one of the new bakers out of a hat. If you have more people playing than contestants, you can always have two names for each contestant and two winners at the end. The winner receives a home-baked (or shop-bought, we won't judge) cake of their choice. Use our sweepstake poster to get you started.
Hold a virtual baking competition
Inspired by all the creative bakes on our TV screens each week? Why not hold your own baking competition? Decide your judging categories and simply ask for a suggested donation and a photo of your participants' entry to take part. Reward the winner with ultimate bragging rights, and perhaps a tasty bake of their choice! From the best-decorated cake to the bake that looks the most like an animal, the opportunities are endless! Get started today by checking out our favourite bake sale recipes.
Bake along with the Great British 'Bake Off'
For the ultimate baking challenge, each week your friends and family could submit a photo of their attempt of the typically tricky technical challenge. The bake that most closely resembles the technical bake wins 'star baker'. At the end of the series, reward the participant with the most 'star baker' awards with undying respect from the rest of the participants and maybe even a prize!
Hold a virtual 'Bake Off' night
Gather your friends and family on a video call to host your own virtual 'Bake Off' night. With games such as 'Bake Off' bingo, where you tick off a square every time a big moment happens (whether dropping a cake, Noel wearing fancy dress or a famous Hollywood handshake). As well as, prizes for correctly guessing this week's star baker. There are plenty of ways to raise a few extra pounds! From bunting to event invites, check out our printable materials to give your event the RSPCA touch.
