Location: RSPCA HQ, Southwater, Horsham, West Sussex

Salary: £18,377 - £19,423 per annum

Hours: 35 per week, Monday to Friday

The RSPCA is the largest animal welfare charity in England and Wales. Our purpose is to end cruelty and promote kindness to animals and to alleviate their suffering.

We are looking for a highly organised, creative individual to undertake picture research work for a variety of uses including our membership magazines, Annual Review, website and commercial products. The ability to carry out photo shoots would be an advantage.

The main purpose of the role is to ensure the best selection and use of on brand images across all RSPCA materials. Responsibilities include managing the picture budget and picture selection for both membership magazines with circulation ranging from 4,000 to 500,000 readers. The role also inputs into the RSPCA Young Photographer of the Year Awards, shortlisting entries and involvement in the event itself.

The successful candidate will:

  • be able to independently carry out picture research to varied briefs
  • have a solid understanding of image standards and technical requirements
  • ideally be able to independently carry out photo shoots
  • have experience of colour correcting images
  • have experience of using a photolibrary asset management system
  • be highly organised, a fast learner and a great multi-tasker
  • have strong communication skills and visual skills
  • be able to work effectively to deadlines and budgets.
