Volunteering

Volunteering vacancy details form

Between 1 July 2010 and 9 February 2011 the volunteering pages of the national website had over 550,000 unique page views (number of times page is viewed by different people). These pages are a great place to advertise your volunteering vacancies to be seen by a wide and varied audience.

It's simple, just fill in the Vacancy details form and e-mail it to the volunteer support unit at volunteers@rspca.org.uk and we will put it on the website.

Volunteer review results

Thank you to everyone who completed the volunteer survey. The information gathered will help improve the support required for volunteers, who are a crucial part of the RSPCA. To see the results click on the Volunteer review. The review includes information such as age range, travel, why people volunteer and the number of hours/years volunteering.

About the volunteer support unit

Volunteers are an invaluable resource to the RSPCA and we are here to help branches recruit, retain and develop their volunteers.

We will endeavour to do this by providing information, support and encouragement to branches, animal centres and their volunteers.

With the launch of the volunteering handbook at the beginning of 2010 we hope that this is the first step to helping to improve the recruitment and retention of volunteers.

In the current economic climate it is more important than ever that we continue to recruit new volunteers and nurture our current, dedicated ones. With the development of workshops, resources and networking opportunities we aim to create a motivated, harmonious and loyal volunteer network.

How can we help you?

Do you need more volunteers?
Would you like to hold a volunteering event?
Do you have your volunteering handbook?

We can help to raise awareness of your specific volunteering issues and find solutions by providing workshops, presentations and other forums.

For help and advice please contact your branch support specialist in the first instance, they may speak to us themselves or suggest that you contact Kevin directly on 0300 123 0047 or email kdegenhard@rspca.org.uk.
