Pet Portfolio

What is Pet Portfolio?

Pet and Equine Portfolio are the terms used to describe all the paperwork and associated processes for the intake, rehabilitation and rehoming of animals within the RSPCA. In its early design stages, you may have heard this referred to as an animal passport or pet passport.

What is happening?

The paperwork and some of the processes used to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in RSPCA care are changing over the next two years.

When does this happen?

1st May 2012: All animal centres must be using Pet Portfolio (legal section) by this date.
1st May 2012: All inspectors must use Pet Portfolio (legal section) for animals entering RSPCA care.

Why are we doing this?

• Rectify the operational and legal issues associated with the IS49 (inspectorate boarding records)
• Clarify the case conferencing escalation process
• Streamline current processes and paperwork for all RSPCA animals
• Rectify current legal anomalies associated with the animal acceptance agreement
• Provide every animal in RSPCA care with the same minimum standard of care

How do I start to use Pet Portfolio?

Regional and branch animal centres will get information from their regions in Spring 2012, through regional meetings and direct communications.

If you are a branch without an animal centre and would like to help develop the portfolio for branch use, please speak to your branch support specialist.
