RSPCA Week is our largest annual national fundraising and profile-raising week when we ask you to spare a thought for the many thousands of animals needing our help each year.
The week is supported by Tesco and our branches fundraise at Tesco stores throughout England and Wales collecting donations of pet food and money - both of which are vital for accommodating, caring for and rehoming abused and abandoned animals.
What did you get up to during RSPCA Week 2009?
This year was the 15th RSPCA Week and ran from Monday, 27 April to Sunday, 3 May 2009.
We want to know what fundraising activities you got up to during the week, so email your pictures and stories to wwasels@rspca.org.uk and we may put the most imaginative ones on the website.
Alternatively, let us know how much you managed to raise for RSPCA Week 2009 by downloading our fundraising form at the bottom of the page and send in your pictures and stories with the form.
Thank you to everyone who got involved, and please check back here next year for details of RSPCA Week 2010, which will take place between 26 April and 2 May.
If you'd still like to make a donation, you can find out ways you can do this at the bottom of the page.
How much do we raise?
In 2006, between them, our branches raised £242,636 in donations of pet food and cash donations. In 2007, this figure rose to £273,506, and in 2008 we just managed to beat this with £279,145.
This year, however, you helped us to raise an amazing £302,525 - the highest amount yet!
We would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who has kindly donated and helped us over the years, and we hope we can count on your support next year.
About the RSPCA
The RSPCA is made up of a national Society and more than 170 local branches across England and Wales, each of which are independently registered charities and are responsible for raising money to fund local animal welfare initiatives.
The RSPCA's inspectors and animal collection officers (ACOs) are the frontline men and women who work around the clock championing animal welfare. They, along with the inspectors' training school and special operations unit (SOU), make up the Society's inspectorate.
